- Chords
In music and music theory, a chord is three or more different notes or pitches sounding simultaneously, or nearly simultaneously, over a period of time. The word chord is short for accord, from the Middle English word cord. Some consider any combination of two or more notes to be a chord, but strictly this is a double stop.
