19.36h PDT - Tosj | For the first time here in San Francisco, we were both asleep when the alarm went off. As soon as we could we took a shower and prepared for the day of the match between The Netherlands and Sweden. As mentioned before, we tried to meet Koos at the Kezar, but before that we went to Twin Peaks. We took the Muni to Castro Street and found out that already quite a lot of people were gathering for the Gay Pride parade for tomorrow. When we walked up 17th street and Twin Peaks we could see that there was a manifestation going on at the visitor center of Twin Peaks, because there were pink balloons and a huge pink sheet shown to the north east part of San Francisco. We made some pictures, called home, and got out of there again.
We were told by Koos that the pub would be in Stanyan street, so we started walking the street in northern direction from Frederick Street. Quite soon we found the pub and thought that Koos was already there, but that was a mistake. Within half an hour he showed up with his mother and brother, and some more people in Orange gathered. A little while later more orange and some Swedish people entered. The game was great, but no goals, so in the end it was up to the penalty lottery to decide who was to go through to the semi finals. Because we already had a penalty trauma, it was a huge relieve that the Dutch won.
We celebrated for a short while and tried to get home. But after a short mile a car with the Dutch people who were also in the Kezar drove by shouting: Holland, Holland. And that they were going to the Mad Dog. No idea where that was, but a little bit further we saw long tall Ben from Borne standing outside. Some people in the street were already saying: Look at that tall guy with the crazy hat! So we had some more drinks in that pub and went home.
